Poverty and violence characterized Scrim’s early childhood, yet he finds solace in music. Scrim began making music at 12 and it became his passion. He used music as an escape from his tough reality, and it eventually led him to success.

Scrim is now a well-known rapper and producer with a successful career. Despite his tough upbringing, he has found success and created a life for himself.

Aristos Norman Petrou

Aristos Norman Petrou, better known by his stage name Ruby da Cherry, was born April 22, 1990, in Metairie, Louisiana, United States. His father was Greek and his mother was American. He began playing the violin when he was seven years old and started banging drums when he was ten.

Aristos Norman Petrou is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is one half of the hip hop duo Suicideboys, along with his cousin Scrim. 

Their Music Career

In 2014, Scrim and Ruby da Cherry started the rap group Suicideboys. The pair clicked immediately and started making music together. They released their first project, “Kill Yourself Part I: The Suicide Saga”, in mid-2014.

The project was a tremendous success, with critics and fans alike praising the unique sound the duo had created. The album is a collection of 17 tracks, of which are under two minutes. Many of the tracks on the album seem to deal with the struggles of addiction and mental illness, as well as the general feeling of societal alienation. 

The duo has released five studio albums and seven mix tapes, with their debut album “I Want to Die in New Orleans”, released on September 7, 2018. The album peaked at number 9 on the Billboard 200 and received positive reviews from critics. 

Suicideboys released their single, “Live Fast Die Whenever” in late 2019. The song is a dark and gritty track that is sure to get fans of the duo pumped up. Getter, who also produced their previous single “Kill Yourself Part III” handled this production.

In August 2021, the duo released their sixth studio album, “Long-term Effects of Suffering“. The lyrics are deep and meaningful, and they will definitely make you think about your own life and how you have been affected by suffering. 

The Suicideboys are currently signed to G*59 Records, and they have featured their music in the popular video game franchise, Grand Theft Auto.
